FINCA DON MANUEL

Finca Don Manuel is a leading tropical fruit farm located in Santa Isabel, the heart of Puerto Rico’s most fertile lands. This farm is blessed by the southern Caribbean breeze and a climate that allows year-round production. In addition, massive wind turbines encompass the farm providing clean energy.
The farm has its roots in the 1700’s. This land was heavily employed for sugar cane production until about 1945. A sugar cane railroad system was used to transport goods and sugar cane throughout the farm. After being abandoned for many years, Finca Don Manuel was founded in 2013 By Fernando Machado. His grandfather, “Don Manuel Machado” inspired him to start a career in agriculture. Today the farm has more than 320 acres where pineapples, plantains, payayas, squash, and other crops are grown for local markets.

AGROTOURISM

Since its inception, Finca Don Manuel has always been a place for people, family, and friends to appreciate local farms and learn how to grow crops in an efficient and sustainable manner. In November 2021, the farm officially opened its doors to agrotourism. Finca Don Manuel is fully endorsed by the Puerto Rico Tourism Company under the category of agrotourism.
Finca Don Manuel is currently one of the largest tropical fruits growers on the southern Caribbean coast of the island, growing over 100 acres of pineapples as well as 200 acres of papayas and plantains. The farm is located on leased land from private landowners, in the municipality of Santa Isabel, and the commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
